Redmond, WA – Microsoft announced that Windows Vista will require more rigorous proof of ownership than is currently implemented by the Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) program. Buyers of Windows Vista will have to send in DNA, fingerprint and retinal scan information to Microsoft to receive upgrades on their purchase.

Whether it's true or not nothing surprises me when it comes to Mr. Bill and his Micro$oft croonies.

If that is not a hoax, I guess I'll run my XP Pro into the ground then switch to open source. By that time, there should be hardly any compatibility issues and plenty of productive and gaming software to use.

What is so amazing is that we have grown so accustomed to the bizarre behavior of Microsoft that even when someone writes something which would oridnarily be obvious satire, we take it seriously if it has anythng to do with Microsoft! Laughing

Really everyone, it is just a joke. Well, I think so. . . . Shocked

Not to perpetuate a hoax, if that's what it is ..... BUT.... I've noticed many laptops are now on retailers' shelves with built-in fingerprint readers. It would be a simple enough task for Microsoft to build a database of users' fingerprints and require validation thusly. Now, retinal ID might be a bit more complex but certainly not beyond the scope of a giant company that brought us all that technological marvel, Windows ME !
