|
|
I have a HP desktop and LCD monitor (proview) and last couple days, when I start the PC, the screen goes white. I can hear the background of Windows Vista cranking up ok, but the monitor stays white. I unplugged the power cord and it is black. ( I saw an earlier issue post). Looked at Google and solutions are all over the place. I have to hit the power button about 4 times and then it shows the "Start Windows normally" screen and is OK.
Oh and if I download updates or anything and the PC restarts, it restarts with no problems.. this White monitor thing ONLY happens at cold Start when I start work for the day
The only thing I did a couple weeks ago was a complete Reinstall of Vista Premium that cured some other unrelated issues. Things worked better but I noticed I cant put the PC to Sleep like I was able to on my Microsoft Digital Pro Keyboard.
I guess I can just leave the PC running 24-7 but wondered if I can fix this White Screen at Startup. Thanks for the assist

You can double check by hooking up you PC to another monitor and see if you have the same problem but I believe your white screen will eventually become permanent as you have a monitor that is going out.
Been there; done that, my friend.

| We'll that is actually good news. I can handle a new monitor. Was worried my PC mother board or worse was dying. Just have to get another monitor to see. |
