I have been using Vista for about a year and still do not like it. A computer man has installed XP also in my system. What benefits or drawbacks are there with both in my system. Does MSword7 work in both?

older,

First of all, yes Office or Word 2007 should work fine with XP. As for having both XP and VISTA on your PC, if you do not wish to use VISTA you can remove it as it is taking up a lot of extra space on your hard drive and probably slowing your computer down somewhat do to the extra space but also do to all of the additional drivers, registry entries, etc.

On the other hand, however, if you have the space it might be wise to keep it in the event you ever want to upgrade to Windows 7 since you can upgrade from VISTA to Windows 7 but not from XP to Windows 7.

If it were me, and I was experiencing no problems resulting from having both on my computer, I would probably keep VISTA installed just to have the flexibility of upgrading to Windows 7 in the future.
