"My First Scooter Jump"
I was first introduced into the scooter world while traveling from drag strip to drag strip racing my truck with other mopar racers in the area. We would use the small Honda Elite 50cc to cruise the pits from camp to camp or to the rest rooms and other various destinations around the tracks. It was usually a calm ride with pit speed limits of 10mph or less there wast much desire to horse around. Well as it be one race in Chicago at Route 66 Raceway a few of my friends came down to watch me race and as with that came the coolers of beer along with 3 other scooters with them. We all drank ourselves silly after racing during the over night hours and would then proceed to ride around and explore the areas and race and yell and carry on like a bunch of adolescent dickheads, mind you we were all in our mid 20's. After having a blast at the track I had stayed in Chicago to hang out for a week and once again the beer and the scooters were mixed about midnight to 3 am was our usual times as traffic and cops were at a minimum. We were in Lake county IL near Gages Lake/Wildwood areas riding the subdivision carrying as much beer and feeling very happy. As I have been in Tn for a few year I wasn't very familiar with Lake county and was just wound out hauling to keep up. We cut through a scool yard and across some soccer fields and little did I know the fields were elevated several feet. So blindly tailgating and riding in excess of 25mph in the wet dewy grass of this field. We were headed right for the soccer field and next think I know I see 3 tail light move upward as thanks to the beer I was in no condition to react and slow down. By the time I realized what was asbout to happen I was hurled upward several feet into the air which felt like I have jumped 80 feet up and then landed on the wheels and and kept on going with out taking a spill. It thrilled the hell out of me and since then that 50cc honda has been through hell and back jumping hill mounds driveways to the point that all the rear plastics had fallen off, all the rear lights fell off, and the front handle bar panels were held together with duct tape. I still have that bike and it still runs well. As my pledge to you all who have sat here reading this I will bring it to the next Hill on Wheels rally and enter in the Gymkana and go for the biggest wide open throttle jump ever seen, no promises on landing it though.
Another chapter coming soon: "My First Wipe Out"

| Not sure why, but Joey Cheek does set off some gaydar bells with me. I hope so though. Very cute guy. Pretty disappointed with my main man casey FitzRandolph though. But I guess that happens when he hasnt skated much in the last 4 years. |
