Just thought it unique, never saw a beard stay encased in that "wax" that usually appears at the base.

I've never seen that either. You should email that pic to Lovett Williams and see what he has to say. Is that a little double beard on the upper right coming out of the "wax"?

How long is the overall length. Are you sure thats a Jake beard?

Good eye Rut, maybe that waxy buildup sticking around has something to do with multi beards.?.?.. Out of all the magazine articles I ever read, never read one on what causes multi beards.?.? That little second beard looks extra encased.

For the sake of scientific discovery we must shoot more jakes. Laughing And a fair warning to any age bird next week and the week after, if you gobble at me and enter my personal space of 40 yards you are getting it.
