... anybody seeing any?

So far one of them has been the highlight of my season. I had been sitting in my Gobbler Lounger for several hours yesterday when the call to get rid of some coffee and stretch hit me. After scanning all around I eased out of my chair and stepped out in front of the hole I had cut in the brush. I was getting ready to sit back down when I looked over toward the road on my left that came into the intersection. The road was only about 20 yards away but it sloped down away from the intersection. I noticed just a head peering over the rise and staring intently at my decoy. It belonged to a coyote. As close as I was I figured there was no way I was going to get set back up without it busting me. I was wrong. It was fixated on the deke with one of those Orome 1000 yard predator stares and paid me no mind. I sat down and got my gun ready because I decided I didn't want any puncture holes in my blow up deke. I wish instead tha I had gone for the camera. A few seconds later the yote came barreling right towards the decoy. I thought I was on him with the gun but he was too fast for me and I missed him clean at about one step away from grabbing the deke. (I don't feel too bad about missing it with an extra full choke at a running target at 15 yards.) It never missed a beat but it swerved enough to just go by the decoy. Looking back I wish I had filmed it. Although I protected the honor of the deke it would have been worth it to see what it thought when it ended up with a mouth full of plastic.

I had 2 yotes within 100 yards this season, but neither came close enough for a shot with a scattergun. The only time I've had my dekes attacked were both in Florida on the same property. One time an eagle swooped down and grabbed my hen deke and flew off with it. He dropped the deke once he figured out it wasn't real. The other time I had a cow walk up and grab my deke in its mouth, then turn around and walk off with it. I had to chase it down to get it to drop my deke. Laughing

I had a mama yote and a pup come sneaking in this season while I was working a bird. They got about 10 yards from me before they spotted me. Thinking back now, I should have pulled the trigger.
